NCM Converter

Frequently asked questions

These are the questions people usually have before trying the converter for the first time.

What is an NCM file?

NCM is a proprietary download format associated with NetEase Cloud Music. It is not a normal audio container like MP3 or FLAC, so many music players cannot open it directly.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The web app is designed for local browser processing. The main conversion work runs on your own device after the page loads.

Will the final file keep title, artist, album, and cover art?

Usually yes, when that information is present in the source data. The app attempts to write those fields back into the exported track so it behaves like a normal tagged music file.

Does conversion reduce audio quality?

No additional lossy re-encode is performed for the restored stream. Lossless FLAC stays lossless, and MP3 output keeps the original encoded audio stream.

Which browsers work best?

Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari work best. Very old browsers or constrained mobile browsers may struggle with large batches because the work is handled locally.
